Cammeyer
Alfred D Cammeyer came from America in approximately 1885. Started a workshop and regarded as the maker of the first zither banjos and indeed made well crafted and beautiful zither banjos. This craftsmanship also extended and evident in his open backed banjos.
At one time he did form a partnership with Clifford Essex but dissolved the partnership in 1900. Cammeyer did make thousands of banjos in total always held in high esteem.
Later on Sidney Young worked with Cammeyer on producing his banjos. Making banjos from 1890 onwards. Always tell a Sidney Young made instrument because of the craftsmanship as one of the finest banjo makers.
