Clerc
Leon Clerc, born in London 1864, age of 18 playing ‘Star Minstrels’ at 22 he became an established teacher in the East End of London. In 1888 he opened a factory 44 – 48 Shoreditch Street, London. His main model number the ‘Athena’ 88EHA, the ‘Crescent’ and the ‘Marvel’.
Clerc continued to play and formed the Athena Quartet which promoted his banjos. Production of Clerc banjos ceased circa 1908. All his banjos were exceptional with 3 in the collection.
